In a hard-fought battle on Sunday against the undefeated  Kitchener Rangers Red, the Novice Blue Bulldogs played a strong game from the first face-off. The boys were aggressive on the puck and battled every shift, every play, of the game. Our defense were strong, working to clear the puck from our zone and guarding the blue line offensively. The forwards kept moving the puck, skating hard and working in the corners.  Haydon Secor  was focused, making  an amazing 41 saves (23 in the third period) to keep our dogs pumped up and working hard right until the very end. With 11 penalties, we were sharp on the penalty kill, and Kitchener only capitalized on the man advantage twice, once during a 5 on 3. (continued . . . ) Read More

It was an exciting weekend for the Novice Blue Bulldogs who won 2 games in a row in Tier 1! The boys came out strong and put forth 100% effort in both games. Our first game of the weekend was on the road against Cambridge, with a 3-1 victory. Our second game was at home. After being down 1-0, the boys came back to score 4 in a row, defeating the Waterloo Ice Wolves 4-1. Both games were exciting to watch - there was fantastic fore-checking and back-checking, successful puck battles, beautiful passes and a solid performance from both Haydon and K.J. in net. Our next Tier 1 game is not until December 7th. The next few weeks will be spent building on our skills, and playing some exhibition games. Keep up the great work Dogs!!!

Burlington was well represented this weekend at the Fall Classic Tournament in Grimsby with two Burlington teams, Novice Blue and Novice Red, challenging teams from Stouffville, Belle River, and New Hamburg. The Blue Bulldogs worked hard to win all four games they participated in. The final came down to the two Burlington teams. A great weekend for Burlington with first and second place finishes!

Congratulations to all members of the Novice Blue Bulldogs and a big thank-you to all of our parents for their active participation, continuous support and encouragement of our boys on and off the ice!

Thank-you Bulldogs families and friends for a great turnout at our Boston Pizza Fundraiser! We had over 200 tickets sold for our afternoon event. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Thank-you to the fund-raising committee for putting together a fantastic silent auction table.  The available prizes were all high quality and there was a bidding frenzy during the final minutes. We are happy to report that we have met our annual fundraising targets – congratulations to all families for their collective effort. We are clearly a team on and off the ice! Let’s go Dogs!!

The Novice Blue Bulldogs had a strong start to their season this weekend with back-to-back wins against Brantford (5-2, 6-3). The boys skated hard and worked well as a team, applying their skills from practices. Parents, players and coaches are looking forward to an exciting season ahead. Well done!
