Volunteer Certification Information:

BLOMHA periodically holds clinics at the office for the certification training required by Head & Assistant Coaches.

If there are no coach certification clinics listed on the BLOMHA website, visit the Alliance Hockey website for dates and times of clinics in our surrounding area.

BLOMHA will cover one half of the cost for any online clinic or coaching course at the office. If you elect to volunteer again the following season, you can apply to be reimbursed for the other half of the cost. You must send a request for reimbursement accompanied by a receipt for online courses.

All Head Coach certification clinics require pre-registration. Registration forms for those held at the BLOMHA office are available on the website and at the BLOMHA office. Completed forms along with payment are to be handed into the BLOMHA office to reserve a spot. Registrations close 7 days prior to the course.

All Team Officials are required to have completed the Respect in Sport course before they can be active with a team. This includes Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers.

This course gives the participants effective tools to recognize and deal with topics such as: Definitions of abuse and harassment, responding to disclosures, prevention of harassment, bullying and abuse during competition.

Coaches please note: This certification is NO LONGER integrated into NCCP Coaching Clinics

Gender Identity Course:

The Ontario Hockey Federation, Hockey Eastern Ontario, and Hockey Northwestern Ontario are ready to roll out the Understanding Discrimination Based on Gender Identity and Gender Expression and a Guide to the Dressing Room Policy and Confidentiality Statement modules for all team officials, which is a mandatory requirement to be approved to a roster for the 2017-18 season.

All team officials will require an eHockey account in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) in order to register for and complete the two Modules. Once completed, notification will be posted to the team officials’ member profile on the HCR.

The first step in completing the training is to ensure all team officials have an eHockey account, in order to sign up for the required clinic. If you do not have an existing eHockey account, click here to create an account now.
