INITIATION PROGRAM (IP) | 2022-2023 Season

What is the Initiation Program?

The Initiation Program is Hockey Canada’s premiere "Learn to Play" program and is the foundation of skill development in the Minor Hockey Alliance.

The Hockey Canada Initiation Program is designed for players 4, 5, 6 and 7 years of age and clearly lays out how to get them started in hockey. Learning basic fundamentals they will have fun and develop confidence. The program consists of four phases of instruction, designed for any entry-level hockey player, helping introduce the skills of skating, puck control, passing and shooting in a fun and age appropriate progressive manner.

AGE DIVISIONS - Based on birth year as of December 31, 2022

Under 6 | Birth years 2017-2018 (4-5 years old)
Under 7 | Birth year 2016 (6 years old)
Under 8 | Birth year 2015 (7 years old)



Full payment for all Initiation Divisions $475. Early Bird Fee | $50. Late Fee applies after July 15, 2022

$237.50 upon registration | $237.50 Sept 15, 2022 post-dated cheque ONLY

*Fees are all inclusive
The third and subsequent child registered in one family receives a $200.00 discount

Programming will begin in October and end in March 2023 (actual dates to be confirmed)

Ice times will be Saturdays/Sundays with alternating schedules. One week teams will be on the ice Saturday and the following week Saturday & Sunday. Preliminary Schedule for Initiation Program
