Senators earn 5-4 win over Canucks
The
Senators played a tough Canucks team and battled back from a 4-1 deficit to win
5-4.
The
Canucks played a good defensive game with star Charlie Zammit scoring 4 goals
to put them ahead 4-1. As the game wore on, the Canucks and Senators had their
chances and both goalies came up with big saves. Faisal Almasri made big saves
in the Canucks net, stopping several breakaways. And Jassa Ahluwalia was just
as big in the Senators net, stopping numerous good scoring chances, including a
further onslaught of slapshots and breakaways.
Ahluwalia's big saves proved a turning point as the Senators battled back in the
3rd. Noah Caçador put one past Almasri late in the 3rd to tie the game, and
then Max Raspberry won the game with just over a minute to go, scoring on a
shot from the high slot that got redirected past Almasri.
Max Raspberry's winning goal and recent goal-scoring streak earned him a player
of the game award, with Jamieson Fennell also earning the award for his strong
defensive play and Paul Coffey-like rushing of the puck.
