2024-2025 MINIMUM COACHING REQUIREMENTS
BLOMHA requires that our Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and all bench staff are fully certified prior to the season starting. If you are unsure of your certifications, this can be viewed on your Hockey Canada Registration Profile, by going to:

NEW PROCESS: 2024-2025 VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK
All volunteers (18+) including on-ice helpers must submit a Vulnerable Sector Check to the OHF (Ontario Hockey Federation) starting in the 2024-2025 season. In previous seasons, VSC's were submitted to BLOMHA directly. The OHF has centralized this process so moving forward you must submit your completed VSC to them or you cannot be added to a roster and therefore are NOT INSURED and not permitted to take part in team activities.
*please note that if you are a rep or select coach waiting on your complete VSC, you can and should submit the receipt + OHF Screening Declaration form via the below method.
What to do:
1. Apply for your Vulnerable Sector Check ASAP if you don't have one already. These can take up to a month to be completed. If you need a letter to do so, please click here.
2. IF YOUR VSC HAS BEEN COMPLETED OUTSIDE OF THE LAST 6 MONTHS - complete OHF Screening Declaration Form (fill in Alliance for "member")
3. If your VSC has been completed WITHIN the last 6 months, you do not need to fill out the Screening Declaration Form.
4. Click here to begin the process.. You will select "register now." (there is no fee)
4. You must sign in to Spordle. If you do not have an account, create one and ensure you fill in all the required info that it asks for. Spordle faciliates Hockey Canada Registration profiles, so you are signing in to Spordle to then make your Hockey Canada Registration profile or select your profile if it already exists.
5. Once you complete this registration, you will receive an invoice to your email - FOLLOW THE LINK IN THE INVOICE TO UPLOAD YOUR DOCUMENTS!
6. Upload PDF's (no other file format will be accepted), and check back in three business days to see if you have any further instructions. The OHF should reach out to you if there's a problem.
VSC's are good for 3 years.
