The Burlington Bulldogs Atom MD’s (White) first tournament of the year was in Pittsburgh. The boys were inspired by their neighbours the 5-time Stanley Cup Champion, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Day 1 was an all-Canadian match up with the Brampton 45ers that saw the Bulldogs squander a 3 goal lead only to come back and win 11-6. Day 2 had 2 epic battles against their American rivals. First off were the hosts the Pittsburgh Vipers. The boys fought hard to secure a 2-0 win and their first shutout of the year. Not to be outdone, the Bulldogs then went on to beat the Junior Hurricanes from Raleigh 7-1. That setup a final with the Pittsburgh Vipers once again. A strong third period closed out the tight checking game in style with another 7-1 victory. The boys overcame the adversity of new rules, physical play and the temptation of cross border shopping to bring home the gold. Congratulations Bulldogs.
