1. Fill out this application.

This is required for all positions, and returning volunteers should also fill it out. We use this form to collect accurate contact info and ensure that your application is seen by the right people. We begin to assemble bench staff for the coming season in July and August. The Directors of House League, Lisa Glenham-Kachiuk and/or Scott Winslow will reach out when they are ready to begin that process.

2. If you don't have one completed already, request a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from your local police station. Please do this right away, do not wait.

All volunteer positions, on-ice helpers included, must submit a completed VSC to volunteer with BLOMHA. This must be submitted to the Ontario Hockey Federation within four weeks of submitting your volunteer application. We will not proceed with any applications that have not completed this step within the requested amount of time.
Please note:
- We can assist you in submitting your Vulnerable Sector Check but please DO NOT send it to BLOMHA. Bring a copy (paper or a PDF cop digitally available on your phone/laptop/tablet etc.
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO SUBSTITUTIONS FOR A VUNERABLE SECTOR CHECK. A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK (CRC) DOES NOT REPLACE A VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK. A CRC AND A VSC ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

- All completed Vulnerable Sector Checks must be submitted to the Ontario Hockey Federation HERE.
- If you already submitted a completed VSC last season, you must submit the annual declaration HERE
- The Ontario Hockey Federation will email you once they have successfully reviewed your VSC or declaration.
- Please do not send your completed VSC or a receipt to BLOMHA. YOU must submit it directly to the OHF. For more info on this process, click here.
- For assistance submitting your VSC or declaration, please come to the BLOMHA office in person.
3. Complete the mandatory certifications.

Required bench staff certifications for all positions can be found HERE. Navigate to the "Qualifications" section of your HCR profile to view what certifications you may have already completed. All bench staff positions except on-ice helper require specific certifications.

4. Complete this bench staff registration.

When it comes to participant selection, if you do not see your name, click "Add a participant". If you do not have a profile (your info does not appear in the search results), you should select "Create a new participant."
Please ensure you register yourself, not your player. All players that are incorrectly registered will be removed.

5. Lisa or Scott will reach out with your team confirmation.
